Asuras
Table of Contents

Asuras are an important part of Imperion's story-line and setting. These are very special Demons. Most of these very special Demons have a unique part to play in the game.

Overview

Simply put, Asuras exist to play some major part in the order of the universe. Some are more obviously important, while others, some may wonder whether they're really that important or not. As they do play important roles in the continuation of existence, they're all generally stronger than normal Demons, and due to the very busy existences they lead, they also tend to be relatively rare to come across.

Due to their being stronger than most Demons, Asuras cannot be kept in a normal Chip. Only an Alpha Chip has the storage capacity to handle storing an Asura. Asuras are also much, much harder to contract, and may well attack you during negotations, to test your strength. Asuras need a good reason to side with you — because you're cool isn't good enough. Typically, even if they do contract with you, it will be a temporary arrangement, most likely one of essentially mutual benefit, and nothing more. To contract an Asura, you'll need an Alpha Chip, if you rely on COMPs, and to tag a staff member to have them NPC the Asura for you, so you can interact with them properly, and truly negotiate.

Devas

A Deva is what the source of an Asura is called. Asuras are created in the physical realm through the dreams of a soul, usually a soul that has died in a specific way. What way this is varies between Asura; for instance, some Asuras' Deva died saving someone else, but there is a wide range of reasons why a soul may become a Deva and generate an Asura. These reasons are not all completely understood.

Asuras are thus essentially dreams that have taken on a corporeal form. Many of them generally retain their Deva's personality and ideology, and exist for the same things the Deva lived and died for. Some Devas may manifest themselves in the form they had when they were alive, but generally, they really only appear in the form of their Asura.

Devas can be called on, if you know the Deva of the Asura you're aiming for, when you need help with something that is within their Asura's domain. They will occasionally answer, just perhaps not in the way you expect.
